Opposition to OKXICE tokenized stock issuance rises to 50 companies
Opposition to the OKXICE tokenized equities plan has expanded to 50 issuers, according to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett. The project is a joint venture between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, or ICE, and was set to issue tokenized shares of public companies on its TSV platform. The latest companies named as objecting to the plan are Nike, Costco, Micron, Reddit, and Nvidia. OKXICE had originally planned to tokenize shares of 62 listed companies. With 50 companies now opposing the issuance, the number of objectors accounts for about 80.6% of the firms included in the original tokenization plan. The report did not provide additional details on the companies’ objections beyond stating that they opposed the issuance of tokenized versions of their stock on the platform.
